The XW/BW Series Cycloidal Gearbox is a high-precision, high-torque reduction drive based on the cycloidal pinwheel (planocentric) principle—a unique mechanical design that delivers exceptional shock resistance, zero backlash, and ultra-high reduction ratios in a compact form factor.

Unlike conventional planetary or worm gearboxes, the cycloidal reducer uses an eccentric cam input shaft that drives one or two cycloidal discs with external lobes. These lobes roll inside a stationary ring of needle pins (pinwheel), creating smooth, continuous meshing without sliding friction. The motion is then transferred via precision pins to the output flange or shaft.
