    How to Select the Right Model

    The pitch drive planetary gearbox functions as a torque amplifier between the electric pitch motor and the turbine blade hub. 
    When the wind speed changes, the turbine’s control system sends a signal to the pitch motor, which rotates at high speed but low torque. The planetary gearbox reduces this input speed while multiplying torque—typically by a factor of 100:1 to 500:1—delivering the high force needed to rotate multi-ton blades.

    The gearbox uses a multi-stage planetary gear train: 
    1st stage: Sun gear drives multiple planet gears mounted on a carrier. 
    2nd/3rd stages: Cascaded planetary sets further increase reduction ratio. 
    Output: The final planet carrier connects directly to the pitch pinion, which meshes with the internal gear of the blade bearing.
    This design distributes load evenly across multiple gear meshes, minimizing stress, noise, and wear—while enabling bidirectional rotation for both normal pitching and emergency feathering.
